It’s time to introduce our first artist. Hooray!

He’s been with Colored Gigs since its early years. Since 1995, Dan has operated as Crosshair, a key figure in Chicago’s renowned printmaking community. He’s created numerous posters and album covers for artists like The Black Keys, Wilco, and Sonic Youth, alongside his own screenprinted art.
Crosshair’s work uses original photography and unique silkscreen techniques, resulting in detailed, immersive prints that favor dreamlike realism over psychedelic styles. Dan explores the tension between human-built and natural worlds, finding rhythms and textures similar to music. His prints often show structures and landscapes in transition, transformed by growth, decay, and changing contexts.
